Poem: World in Ruins

This is the world in ruins.
When the time comes
will there be resolutions?

The broken pieces of earth
developed for progress.
The skies filled with toxins
for everything to ingest.
The seas are boiling over
with that dirty, oily mess.
And this is what we do
to mother nature’s wounded breasts.

This is the world in shambles.
When you walk away
will you accidentally stumble?

The wildlife have been driven
from their place of origin.
The indigenous have nothing left
but the sorry sight of their dreams.
And everything else is negligible
as long as they’re not money making.
Someone decided he should rule
because he made himself king.

This is the world in despair,
When you wake tomorrow
will the world still be there?
